Zeno Gries, born 1993 in Berlin, began his studies in Media Arts at HGB Leipzig in 2013. From 2015 to 2020 he was part of the class for Expanded Cinema under Clemens von Wedemeyer.
Together with other artists he founded the studio and exhibition space Phyllis Johnson for experimental and collective works at Halle 14 in Leipzig.
His artistic practice began with questioning one’s own body and evolved into the examination of issues of representation and identity. Currently he is looking at the relationship between representation and the represented, for example in the context of social networks and the internet. He works with a broad range of New Media.
